Food is awesome. People that work there are awesome. Ambiance is awesome. Best place to eat, relax and socialize in Ankeny. Love this place!

My mother, daughter, and I ate at Main Street Cafe. Each of us enjoyed our dish. The only draw back is that the desserts are very pricey. We took desert home. The bourbon peach cheesecake is delicious. The almond cake was much too sweet for my grandfather. We had to return an item that was cooked wrong. We received a refund.

I don't go here much, but every time I do I'm reminded I should go here more. Their food is really good, a little pricey, but it's quality stuff. Tons of Mac&Cheeses, great sandwiches and wonderful soups. They also have really good cake, you can order whole cakes for events and such as well. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Place is generally a little busy, but nothing crazy.

Every time I come to Main Street, it is wonderful. They have a wide selection of food that is always delicious. The wait time is never too long (5-10 minutes) and the staff is always very accommodating and friendly. This is one of the best places to eat in Ankeny!

The entrees and desserts are excellent as well as the counter and floor staff. Food is hot and comes to the table quickly. Did have a problem with a dry stale roll with my meal as did a friend who was with me. As it was quite busy did not say anything to the staff as did not want others to hear. I did send an email about the situation to the manager just to make him aware. That was 2 weeks ago and still have had no response back. Part of having a bakery is fresh bread and having a business is good follow up with issues that arise. I still recommend this restaurant to others, regardless.

Excellent food & service. Everything I've heard about this place is correct. I had the steak & aioli sandwich. Very good. Steak was so tender & flavorful. Had a cup of cheesy chicken tortilla soup, that was very tasty also. Will definitely be back.

Today at the Iowa truck weigh station on I-80 near Colfax Iowa a few people thanking truckers and giving away free sandwiches....I noticed on the box that the food was furnished by Main Street Cafe and Bakery.....Just wanted to express my gratitude and admiration for the people who own this business. As a truck driver, I truly appreciate the recognition and generosity, God Bless Main Street Cafe and Bakery.

This place is great! The selection is extensive and friendly employees. Definitely recommend.

We went there for lunch for the first time. The place is nice bright and airy. The menu is very good however they stopped serving breakfast item with sauces at 10:30am. That’s so weird. For example I want to order the hollandaise dish from menu item but they can’t serve it. Also they put up menu items in chalk board that is not yet available. Which I do not understand either. Also portion is super small for the price. The worst is the server. We did not get the folk and knives when our food was served so we asked for utensil and I uploaded a photo of how they were given to us. No joke!I’ll not be coming back to this place again.

Great place to eat. Friendly service. Fantastic ambience with the fireplace and comfy chairs. In my opinion, the French Onion Soup is to die for. For $25, we got to meals and a soda. Very affordable.

Really love this place. I've visited a few times. Great sandwiches and wraps and the truffle burger is outstanding. They offer some good looking sweets if you're looking for that too. Lunch hour is busy but its still do able to get in and out without much time hassle. Staff is nice for the most part.

One of our favorite places to go! The salads are incredible, the breakfast is incredible, the pies and cakes are amazing! You can order for the holidays or family events and they are just like homemade if not better! Definitely a must stop and kid friendly!

The best restaurant in town! Everything on the menu is delicious, and there are always new options every season. Main Street is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast and lunch!

I am vegan and called ahead on the phone to figure out if they had any options that I could eat. A very nice man helped me out and I found out that the black bean burger on a pretzel bun without sour cream is in fact vegan! And let me tell you, it’s super delicious too! I also had the vegan red lentil soup which was also just as delicious! I’m glad that they have some options other than salads that I can choose from! Thanks for the awesome help and great customer service!

I ordered a smash cake and cupcakes for my son's first birthday party and Main Street completely overdelivered on my expectations!! They matched the smash cake perfectly to my invitations and the cupcakes were large and had a beautiful wrapper around them. I would highly recommend their bakery as well as their lunch menu items.

Stopped by for lunch and tried the shrimp pesto. It was a great value for the price and the fresh bread was spot on. The establishment was nice and their menu offered a wide variety of salads, sandwiches soup, pasta, and your regular coffee drinks. What I appreciate the most was the staff. They were all very quick with everything and attentive to detail. Overall, great place for lunch. It does get pretty busy so plan ahead.

The expansion is great. Much more spread out and you no longer feel like you are standing on top of each other. We went to eat the other night and the food was great as always and the staff is extremely friendly and offering any assistance.

Despite its name, it’s not on Main Street, nor is it a typical greasy cafe. It is a really expensive Panera with a wider selection of food that also taste a lot better. The staff was great, very friendly. Customers are your typical oblivious Panera type that think they are better and more important than you. I will finish and edit this review later, headed to MOA. (Mall of America)

Ordered a vegan chocolate peanut butter birthday cake decorated with cats to be picked up the next day. The cake was amazing and the decorations were exactly what my 23 year old twins loved. Thank you for making me look really cool with Angry Cat and for them thinking I am a super mom!! Amazing service and great tasting food too!

Tried the wild.rice bowl add salmon and that is now my NEW favorite item...besides the raspberry drink with OJ...and their delicious homemade assortment of soups, sandwiches and cake by the slice!!!

This place has excellent food and fast service. I was surprised at how quickly the food arrived. I ordered a truffle burger and it was very good. The soups are fantastic as well. I would definitely recommend.

Food was great! Unique dishes and you could tell very fresh fruits and veggies. Their fall menu offerings sounded great, but I wanted to try one of the scrambles. Coffee was very good. Staff was friendly and service was great.
